Most wonderful experience of my life.
For anyone who doesn't know what trek is,
It's where the youth of the church venture out to go through just a
little of what the pioneers went through.
We dressed up like pioneers, rode school buses to Wyoming,
and walked a total of 30 miles in 3 days in the heat of the day.
My testimony has gotten so much stronger because of this experience. The pioneers walked even more than we did, had less food, and journeyed in the dead of winter.
Many died during this trek, so this was a very sacred adventure.
The pioneer that I walked for, was Alice Brooks.
I am so grateful that my stake gave us the opportunitiy to do this.
My favorite part was the Women's pull. That is where the girls have to pull carts up a steep hill as the men stand on the sides and watch us. They couldn't help. And that is what was hard.
We felt only part of what some of the women went through when they were alone.
And the men felt the pain of not being able to reach out and help.
Everyone was in tears.
This is a video of what it was like.
Some people wonder why the pioneers left everything they had to go to Zion.
God commanded it. They felt of his love and knew he would be there any step of the way.
Many looked back to see who was pushing thier cart to find no one there.
There were angels sent forth to perform miracles.
"It will all be worth it."
