Girls Camp 2012; Arise and get thee into the mountain

Girls camp this year was so spiritual! Our theme was "Arise and get thee into the mountain".
This year we had cabins and they were sooooo nice!
Top: Hailey, Me, Kena, and Ashley
Bottom: Megan, Rachael, Kaylie, Mady, and Regan.
While I was preparing my bunk, I looked outside and saw a doe! Right outside my window!
Later that night, Kena was freaked out that the moon was staring at her. We didn't go to bed until very late.
One of the mornings at camp, Bishop insisted on a sunrise hike. We woke up at 5:00 and hiked our way up the mountain to see a magnificent sight. Thank you Bishop for banging on our door so early so we could see this.

It was amazing to see and I am so glad that Hailey was able to come to girls camp this year. (it was her first year.)

At camp we did a service project . . . and ripped a tree right out of the ground! I felt pretty studly as I walked the tree to the shredder. :)
Another lovely event at camp was our value walk. Each of the YL's symbolized as a value and we each took turns talking about our values. Once we were done, we passed out "value crystals" (small beads) to make necklaces the next day. I was Faith, Gentri was Knowledge, and Ashley was Integrity.
Because we didn't have dinner duty, we took pictures. We are wearing jackets, blankets, and gloves because it was so stink'n cold!
And some point in every day, we had some down time, and one day, I was going to take a nap but my bed was covered in my crafty junk, so Ashley told me that I could nap on her bunk with her. I'm not going to lie, She had the comfiest air mattress at camp! :D
On the day that we rode a canoe, we saw a weird ring around the sun. I took a picture so I could see it better. The lake that we went in, was filled with leeches and some kind of parasite that gives you a rash so 7 days.  Luckily, no one was pushed in.
This year, I was old enough to go on the overnight hike. It was super fun to hike to our camp. Me and Gentri pitched our tent further away from the others, just for fun. We got the smallest tent. One man tent that fit two girls. That night, it was so cold by the fire, that we all went into the Laurel's tent to talk. And of course, the topic was boys. We all went around taking turns telling about the guys that we like. Let's just say that Me and "Barbra" like the same guy, and we are now best friends. Haha :D
Soon it was time for bed, so we put all of our food in a bear box and tried to get to bed. Me and Gentri were so cold that we zipped our mummybags together to try to stay warm. It sorta worked but we were still freezing. By the time we woke up, I looked at the top of the tent that was only inches from my face was wet, It look like it rained. It was actually "breath dew" as Gentri called it. It was so cold that night that our breathing condensed on the top of the tent. :D

Testimony Meeting
Before testimony meeting actually began, we went through a little program that took us through the Savior's life by using our senses, in other words, we were blindfolded. We were led blindly to our seats and we each had no idea where we were. They played music about the Savior's life as we had to feel a baby doll, a hammer, sheep's wool, the nails that were bore into his hands, the barbed wire crown that was placed on our heads, the cross that was placed on our backs, and cloth that smelt of lavender. We drank grape juice, ate bread, and smelt vinegar. It was hard to hold back the tears, especially when a friend of mine started crying. Once everyone heard her, they started crying too. The kind people who were in charge came around with tissues. Thank goodness! When we were done, they had us take off our blindfolds to see a picture of the Savior. I looked around to see every young woman in tears. Me and Katie both laughed as we noticed that our blindfolds were soaked from the tears. Then, the actual testimony meeting started. I have never felt the spirit so strong. I am so grateful to be a part of the ward that I am in and I am so happy that my sister and my sister-cousin had the chance to come with me. I know that my Redeemer lives, and I know that he suffered for our sins. He is our friend and will always be there for us and can help us if we only ask.

The last 3 days of School

Day 1: End of School Party
Vanna invited everyone in our friend group to have an "End of School" party. We went to her property and had a flippn awesome food coloring water balloon fight. We also burned our homework in a bonfire, swam in the river and roasted smores. You guys are the bestest friends ever! :D

 Day 2: Lagoon
Our school has a field trip for the freshmen to go to Lagoon.
Talk about fun!
The only downside to this awesome journey was that we had arranged buses, but because Me, Vanna, and Hailey have "S" last names, we were all on the same bus.
Once we finally got there, we parked, and Vanna said, "Look at all of those buses!"
So I took a picture. ;)
Our group pic: Emilee, Sammy, Dallin, Hailey, Aud, Jess, Corie, Me, Vanna, Kenz, Brooklyn, and Katie. . . poor Dallin. He was the only boy that was willing to hang out with us and gave us plenty of laughs.

The final day: Good bye Freshman Year
The sad good bye to this school, the happiness of going to a better school,
sorrow of saying bye to my dearest friends for a while, and the freedom of summer!!!
Me, Emilee, Hailey, and Vanna already missing each other.

Me and Beka celebrating the beginning of summer!
It is a tradition to go to a park on the last day of school with our family friends. :D
I am completely excited for summer, especially because I sleep in later in the school year than in the summer! I love you XC! Have a lovely summer everyone!
