STOP: to pray. . . .

On the last day of the trimester, I was walking to school and decided that the stop sign looked extremely pretty. . . with the help of photoshop! Haha :D

I remembered the lesson that Carol gave about 3 years ago, "When you are too weak to stand, KNEEL!" She taught us the importance of prayer in our daily lives.

Words of Wisdom:

"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful."

Roller Skating at the Fun Park!

A while ago the Mia-maids decided to go roller skating at the fun park. It was super fun, but it was oldies night so they only played old songs. Good part was that we played limbo. Have you ever tried to limbo with roller blades on? You have to have super talents, like Beka did. She won a free pass to come back because she tied for the last girl standing. So we decided to come back. We invited Brynlee and Darian and had a blast!

Hahaha! Great times!

Family Christmas Pictures ~2011

This year for our family pictures my mom wanted snow. . . so chilly! Haha, the pictures look fantabulous, but you don't see behind the scenes of our cold faces, gloves, and a heater in the car. :)

Make sure for your family pictures, find a true smile. It took me a while to find mine.

Journal~#4

Grateful Journal #4

I am grateful for Trust. I have trust in the Lord.

Just think about it, if the Lord wasn't trustworthy, we wouldn't want to follow his commandments or live the Gospel. I am grateful that I was brought here in this time to my family that has taught me the gospel in my youth. (thank you Bro. Dub (seminary teacher) for the wonderful thought)

I am grateful for trustworthy friends.

Without them I would be lost. :)

Smile everyday because you never know when someone is falling in love with your smile! :D

Special Needs Seminary

Last Trimester I got to be a Peer tutor in Seminary. Sooooooo fun! We got stickers if we read our scriptures and we got to feel the spirit with these kids every day! We would listen to Brother Condie then go to the students class room and play Ninja Destruction! :)

This is my partner Kaylee, she is known for randomly poking you in the side. :D

And this is Josh, He is known for his crazy expressions and wacky comments.

This bunch of lovely kids showed me more about the world with their light

Smile every day!

A quote Dallin:

"Wow what great memories this bring back! From the plainness of Juan to the random comments of josh. Sometimes I look back and miss the random (painful) pokes that Kaylee bombarded me with! Even sometimes I miss the pure excitement and craziness of Matthew! Man! What I wouldn't give to be back there. I think that the special needs seminary has changed me and left me with a stronger spirit and a more earnest desire to do good in the world. Just that simple giggle or smile from Kaya fills my heart with happiness for these awesome kids! May god bless all of us that served them and all of them who changed us. May we never forget these experiences that change us and help teach us what is truly important in life.

Mosiah 2:17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."

The Christmas Shoes

Last week I was babysitting, and the piglets suggested that we watch this. During the movie, me and all of the piglets were squished on one couch crying. This is such a cute movie! It would be so hard to go through this, just imagine how strong their faith was to know everything was going to be fine.

Here's the trailer if you would like to see it: http://youtu.be/YFviZZv1MX8

Be grateful for the simple things in life! :D

P.S.(The Christmas shoes song is in my playlist)

Journal~ #1

Since I have had a very bad consistency of posting, I have decided that I would make a new goal.

The goal is to post AT LEAST once a week and make it a journal.

For my first 10 journals I will be writing about what I am grateful for.

I love how much families can help you out. Your parents make dinner for you pay the bills and love you with all their heart. And even though you won't give me a mustang to drive, at least I can drive the lawn mower!
I also love my ward family. Especially the Young Women's. They treat you like a beautiful Daughter of God, and that no one can take that label away.
I love these girlies! They have been great friends and great leaders!
love ya!

Sweet, Sweet Victory!

Well, I did it! I ran 250 miles this summer! Some parts were hard, but I survived! Ha ha. Thanks Beka for making me run and working hard. I'm so very glad that you did, because if you didn't I would be one of those lazy people sitting on their butts all day with no leg muscle!

The whole reason I put SAVAGE on my bag is because that is what Claude (the coach) calls me. And I am so very sorry that I can't be on the team, skating is my top priority.

Rockstar!

I was walking home from a friends house one day and I heard a voice say,
"Chantel, don't go. . . you are their rockstar!"
Then I hear many little voices scream,
"CHANTEL!" as I see about 7 kids running up to give me a huge group hug. If you didn't notice already, those 7 or so kids are the ones that I have babysat. I love babysitting because when I babysit, it seems more like I am at a friends house.
Another expericence with "babysitting" is at church. On Sunday, I got to go up in the front of the chapel and recieve an advance to Mia-maid certificate. And once they called my name to go up there, 3 different kids whispered, "Yay Chantel!" and waived their arms up high so I as well as the Bishop could see thier excited faces. I know this because they sat on the row behind us and discussed mermaid calls. Haha
And also, we had a mother, daughter date at a park and all of the kids were on the swings. If you were standing any 20 or so feet. You could hear a lovely chorus of, " Chantel, give me underdog!" It was so funny that my friends my age started swinging and wanting underdogs! Haha great times!

Life is only as great as you make it.

love ya!

You never know what you have 'til you lose it. . .

A very nice friend of mine, "Ted", told me yesterday that she was trying to get back in touch with her roommates from college, but, she couldn't find them. She told me to stay close with my friends and never lose touch. And I really took that into consideration . . . what if when i get older, I lose what I have with all of my friends. "Ted" told me this while I was standing by my friend, "Joe". "Joe" just kiddingly said, "Oh, we will most likely be neighbors for the rest of our lives!" And now our inside joke is that our husbands are going to be great friends and we will buy a Duplex, name it Gilbert, and move in with our families. Ha ha Long story. Never lose sight of what is really important, because once it is gone.

It is pretty hard to get back.

Love ya!

P.S.( The picture is of my newly caught frogs one summer. )

Running gives me a new strength that I wasn't even aware of. I can ENDURE. While we were in Sun Valley (so pretty and allergy free!) I ran the 5k FUN RUN. It was amazingly fun, it didn't really push me to my limit. In Cross Country, they have taught us to never set a limit, because if you do, you never can really be the best that you can be.

Turns out, I am a pretty good runner. . . I won First place in the age group of under sixteen. I won the privilege to say I got first, Skull Candy Headphones, and a $25 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods. Thank you Dad for letting me race, thank you Mom for believing in me, and a HUGE thank you to Beka for helping me run. Even though you weren't really there, your advice stuck with me the whole way.

Anybody can Endure. Stick your mind to it, and believe in yourself!

love ya!

MUD!!!!!

Well, long story. . . my dad dug a hole in our garden trying to find the leak that flooded our basement, and we found a leaking pipe. It flooded the hole, and we admired the mud,and had a party! We sat in it, played in it, and fought in it!

Utah Winter Games!

Oh, Utah Winter Games. Figure skating at its best, this year I got to skate in the Freestyle 1 Artistic group. Sue and my mom said I skated my best that day. It is not as easy for me to skate in front of friends than in front of judges, I really don't know why.

Pretty great huh? third Place, top three is the best in our family. I had the weirdest score though, there was an over all of five judges, two judges wanted me to get first, two wanted me to get fifth (last), and one wanted me to get third.

Thank you everyone for helping me do my best! Over all . . . I think I did pretty great! ;D

Love ya!

I'm Proud!

A couple of nights ago we had this conversation at dinner about what we were proud of. Well, I'm proud of being me, who I am is special and unique, I am proud of my accomplishments, and I am proud to be in the LDS Church. Thank you everyone who has helped me! I really appreciate all everyone has done!

Be thankful and proud of who you are! Love ya!
By the way. . . I photoshopped this picture!
